Summary

I dove into Fantastic Four on the Game Boy Advance and was instantly hooked by its isometric, beat‑‘em‑up style that feels like a portable movie tie‑in. Switching between Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and The Thing lets you exploit each hero’s quirky powers – stretching, cloaking, flame‑wielding and sheer brute strength – to blast through hordes of robots, street punks and even Ultimate‑inspired baddies like Mole Man and the Yancy Street Gang. Levels blend combat, puzzles and exploration, and a simple point system upgrades attacks while unlocking bonus artwork, cast interviews and hidden arena tokens. The game even features custom tracks for each hero: Taking Back Sunday for Mister Fantastic, Go Betty Go for Invisible Woman, The Explosion for Human Torch and Jurassic 5 for The Thing, plus an epic main‑menu theme. Co‑op mode lets a buddy join the scramble, and topping certain difficulties rewards secret Latveria stages and a cheeky hell‑level cheat.

Storyline

Fantastic Four (Game Boy Advance) opens with Reed, Sue and Johnny lying unconscious on a rooftop as Doctor Doom prepares an electric blast. Sue’s force field stops the attack and she summons Ben, who is emerging from the transformation chamber after his rocky exterior is removed. The game flashes back to the cosmic storm that gave the team their powers, showing Ben’s panic as he becomes the Thing and flees home.
The quartet soon faces a rampaging Ben in New York, rescues a fire‑truck on the Brooklyn Bridge and battles Mole Man’s creatures in Grand Central Station. Reed’s search for a new power source leads the team to a Mexican jungle where they defeat Diablo and retrieve a meteor, though its energy proves insufficient.
Later, Victor’s museum opening is sabotaged by the Puppet Master’s animated mummies, prompting a chaotic fight that destroys half the exhibit. Doombots assault the heroes, forcing a massive showdown in Times Square and a brief imprisonment in the Vault, where Dragon Man’s escape adds further mayhem.
Nick Fury releases them on the condition they investigate his lab, now overrun by mutant plants and insects. After securing the needed power source, Reed powers his transformation chamber.
Victor lures the team to the Baxter Building, stealing Ben’s power to boost Doom. The enhanced Doctor Doom overwhelms them until Ben, feeling remorse, re‑enters the chamber, regains his Thing form and crushes Doom, allowing the Fantastic Four to finally prevail.
