Summary

Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors (often just called Supersonic Warriors) brings the high‑octane feel of the series to the Game Boy Advance, letting you pit up to three fighters against each other in sprawling arenas. The combat is split between rapid close‑range strikes and chargeable ki blasts, and every character boasts three directional "Certain Kill" moves that unleash massive damage from above, below, or straight ahead.

The roster covers fan‑favorites from Goku and Vegeta to Frieza, Android 18, and both forms of Majin Buu, each available in multiple transformations such as Super Saiyan or Majin variants. Selecting a team of three lets you experiment with combos, but Challenge Mode caps characters at level four, forcing you to master each fighter’s toolkit before unlocking tougher squads.

Z Battle Mode focuses on a single character climbing a ranking ladder by defeating eight opponents in succession, while Free Battle removes all level limits for unrestricted 1‑on‑1 or team fights. For head‑to‑head action, Link Vs. Mode hooks two GBAs together via a link cable, delivering the unpredictable human‑vs‑human dynamics that AI can’t replicate.

Storyline

Dragon Ball Z - Bukuu Tougeki’s Story Mode lets you pick from sixteen distinct narratives. Three of them are the “Z‑Stories,” which loosely trace the canonical Namek, Android and Majin sagas from the manga and anime, while the remaining thirteen are Character Stories that let each of the thirteen playable fighters experience alternate “what‑if” twists on the DBZ plot.

Each story is broken into six to eight battles, punctuated by short cinematic scenes that combine text with background art. After a scene the player fights an AI opponent, then returns to the next scene, with each successive foe a bit tougher than the last.

Progressing through a story unlocks new abilities for the chosen character, opening up deeper combo options and more strategic play. Finishing a story awards points that can be spent in the options menu to unlock additional characters, letting you replay the saga from a fresh perspective. If you clear a story without dying, certain titles reward you with a bonus fight that extends the narrative as a special extra.
