Storyline

The player steps into the boots of a space marine—often called Doomguy—in the classic title Doom. The campaign opens on the Martian moons, where a secret Union Aerospace Corporation teleport experiment goes catastrophically wrong, leaving the marine alone with only a pistol.

He fights through the first episode, "Knee‑Deep in the Dead," battling undead humans and demons in Phobos’ military and waste facilities before defeating two Barons of Hell and being knocked unconscious by a teleporter surge. In "The Shores of Hell" he pursues the threat to Deimos, slays a massive cyberdemon, and discovers the moons floating above Hell itself, prompting a dangerous rappel down to the fiery surface.

The final episode, "Inferno," sees the marine traverse Hell, destroy a cyber‑spider demon that orchestrated the invasion, and finally step through a portal back to an Earth already overrun. The optional "Thy Flesh Consumed" episode adds an early assault on those Earth invaders, setting the stage for Doom II.
