Summary

Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure on the Game Boy Advance swaps the usual side‑scroll for an isometric view, borrowing the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 engine and trimming it down for a handheld audience. The game packs three Disney‑Pixar worlds—Toy Story, Tarzan and The Lion King—each offering two levels and a boss showdown, and a story mode where every level is broken into three runs that gradually unlock more of the terrain.

Scattered NPCs hand out bite‑size missions, from nailing a tricky jump to racing against the clock for collectibles. Each level also hides a Time Challenge, a Trick Challenge and a Turbo Challenge, plus a tutorial for newcomers. Versus mode is a hot‑seat affair: players take turns trying to land the best trick.

The roster is limited to seven skaters, featuring the two child protagonists Ryan and Mallie Ann, who earned their spots through Activision’s Extreme Skate Crew casting call. Controls are deliberately simple—one button for tricks, with an optional “Pro Controls” toggle for combo‑savvy fans. Critics praised the bright presentation and level design, though the GBA’s graphics and the stripped‑down mechanics earned mixed reactions, reflecting the tightrope the developers walked between Disney’s brand guardrails and the Tony Hawk formula.
