Summary

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Wrath of the Darkhul King (sometimes called Buffy Contre Les Vampires – La Colère De Darkhul) is a side‑scrolling action platformer that throws you into sixteen distinct GBA levels, from a spooky cemetery to a high‑tech temple. Each area feels alive with ladders, ropes, metal bars and even water you can swim through, while hidden switches and movable crates turn simple platforming into a light‑hearted puzzle hunt.

Combat is a mix of classic beat‑em‑up combos and a surprisingly deep weapon system. Buffy can punch, kick and chain attacks, but the real fun comes from a rotating inventory of sixteen weapons—stakes, flaming daggers, crossbows, laser rifles and even a Glove of Myhnegon—each with a limited number of uses. You can fuse items, like a torch and dagger, to create a flaming blade, and the environment itself becomes a weapon when you smash benches or topple stone walls onto foes.

The enemy roster spans male and female vampires, two demon species and the Gentlemen’s minions, all of which can be avoided or dispatched in creative ways. Four memorable bosses—an elite vampire leader, the supersoldier Adam, the demonic Gentlemen and the Darkhul King himself—require unique strategies, often involving the very objects you break around them.

A higher difficulty setting reshuffles entry points and puzzle solutions, keeping even seasoned players on their toes. Between levels, digitized stills from the TV series pop up, and Riley Finn drops presents that refill health or supply new weapons, adding a touch of Buffy‑verse charm to the fast‑paced action.

Storyline

Buffy Contre Les Vampires - La Colere De Darkhul (Rising Sun), often referred to simply as Wrath of the Darkhul King, is set during Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s fourth season. The game follows Slayer Buffy Summers as she patrols Sunnydale after Watcher Rupert Giles warns her of a surge in demonic activity, beginning with a stolen talisman at an Amelia Earhart exhibit.

Buffy’s allies—Giles, Willow, Xander and Anya—research the theft and discover that Baruk demons are excavating for the hidden Scepter of Thelios, a relic used centuries ago by the sorceress Elnara to trap the Darkhul King, a demonic warlord who once ruled Earth for over 500 years. Along the way Buffy battles organized vampire nests, the Gentlemen and their minions, and even teams up with Riley Finn to fend off a rogue Adam before the Baruk demons perform a ritual to free their master.

Giles directs Buffy to the Temple of Shadows, where she must retrieve the Glove of Myhnegon to confront the newly freed Darkhul King. After a climactic showdown in the temple, Buffy defeats the Darkhul King, who swears revenge, and returns to finish the extra‑credit assignment that sparked the adventure.
