Summary

Black Matrix Zero blends the classic turn‑based tactics of a tactical RPG with a surprisingly deep dive into Judeo‑Christian symbolism. The world it inhabits is a prequel to the original Black/Matrix, set centuries before the events most fans know, and it’s populated by three distinct human factions: winged angels, winged devils, and the wingless masses. The angels, who sport white wings, dominate through the Prodevon Church—a religious order that both unites and blinds the wingless, keeping them in a state of obedient ignorance. Devils, marked by black wings, wield their own formidable powers, while the wingless are left to scramble for survival in a world that treats them as afterthoughts. This stark hierarchy fuels the game’s moral questions, making every battle feel like a clash not just of swords but of ideologies, as players navigate the uneasy balance between Heaven, Hell, and the Earth caught in between.
