Summary

Barnyard on the Game Boy Advance lets you slip into the secret lives of farm animals when the humans aren’t looking, delivering a humor‑filled party adventure that feels more like a backyard carnival than a typical handheld game. You pick an animal and wander through nine quirky chapters, taking on missions that pop up as text alerts and then diving into a growing roster of mini‑games that get tougher as you progress.

The game rewards curiosity: hidden notes in trees and fences are called Secrets, while Recipe Rocks unlock kitchen concoctions for the mock‑tail bar. A special Nickelodeon crossover can even unlock an extra farm animal, and the Gopher Underground Shop lets you customize the barn and buy new mini‑games. Collecting Gold Rush Tokens earns you Gopher Bucks, and the ultimate Barnyard Champion title is yours for the taking.

Rare finds like Royal Jelly add a dash of treasure hunting, and the night‑time barn transforms into a lively party hub where you can show off your scores on the leaderboard. The blend of missions, collectibles, and cheeky humor makes the handheld version a surprisingly deep slice of farmyard fun.

Storyline

In the Game Boy Advance version of Barnyard, you begin as the new cow on the block, tackling a series of challenges to earn the title of the biggest party animal. The game’s storyline loosely follows the movie, introducing and losing characters as the plot unfolds, but it also forges its own path.

Mid‑game sees the loss of Ben, mirroring his disappearance in the film, while Chapter 8 brings a twist: the barnyard leader Otis runs off and the player must step up. Together with the other animals, you make a final stand against the ultimate boss. Missions are tied to the narrative, with daytime tasks timed and nighttime objectives that must be finished before morning.
