Summary
Inspired by Luc Besson’s animated film, the Game Boy Advance title Arthur and the Invisibles tries to capture the movie’s whimsical visuals with its own graphics and technical tricks. The game centers on three characters—Arthur, Selenia and Bétamèche—whose skills must be blended to move forward: Bétamèche’s detector scouts hidden items, Selenia upgrades her dagger into the Sword of Power, and Arthur can strip enemy shields.
Puzzles often involve assembling the stone "Flagstone" to unlock doors, and the platforming gets wild when you climb atop a Mogoth to cross razor‑sharp paths or hitch a ride on gigantic spiders and ladybugs. Unfortunately, the handheld version was slammed for its blurry graphics, repetitive soundtrack, overly easy difficulty and a thin amount of content compared to its console siblings.
Despite the ambition, the GBA experience feels more like a stripped‑down showcase of the film’s world than a fleshed‑out adventure, leaving most fans wishing for deeper challenges.
