Summary

Aggressive Inline landed on the Game Boy Advance in August 2002, courtesy of Full Fat, the studio that had already tackled a Dave Mirra port for the handheld. While the console versions boasted open‑ended levels and a fluid skill‑progression system, the GBA spin‑off swapped those for time‑capped stages, simpler collect‑or‑destroy goals, hoop jumps and high‑score challenges. It still kept the spirit of competition, offering an Arcade mode, a Freeskate mode, and two‑player link‑cable battles for the biggest combo or highest score. The team leaned on the Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 engine, motion‑capture animation and even dynamic cloth tricks, but the handheld’s hardware forced smaller arenas and a more conventional design. Critics praised the crisp digitized audio and the game’s visual polish, yet they noted the loss of the original’s expansive freedom, making the GBA version feel more like a polished side‑scroll than a true extreme‑sports sandbox.
