Summary

Ace Lightning on the Game Boy Advance takes the quirky BBC TV series and turns it into a bright, door‑hopping adventure. You start with an overhead map of an amusement park, where each open doorway drops you into one of twelve themed worlds, each a classic 2D side‑scroller packed with quirky enemies and a boss guarding the next clue to the Gold Amulet. The level design feels like a nostalgic playground, and after clearing a handful of stages the game rewards you with two bite‑size challenges: a timed shooting range where you blast targets for points, and a strength test that has Ace swinging up a pole to ring a bell. Though it launched only in Europe in late 2002 under BBC’s Gamezlab label, the title still manages to capture the show’s mix of CGI flash and live‑action charm, offering a compact but surprisingly varied GBA experience.

Storyline

Ace Lightning on the Game Boy Advance mirrors the plot of the TV series, following the same storyline as the show. The handheld adventure tasks the player with hunting down the scattered fragments of the Amulet of Zoar. Each piece must be collected before the climactic battle can begin. Once the amulet is whole, the hero confronts Lord Fear in a final showdown to defeat him.
