Storyline

Tantei Jinguji Saburo: Shinjuku Chuuou Kouen Satsujin Jiken, often called Shinjuku Central Park Murder Case, opens with the naked body of popular hostess Takada Momoko found on the freshly tilled grass of Shinjuku Central Park. Detective Jinguji Saburo is hired by his friend Police Chief Kumano of Yodobashi precinct to solve the strangulation murder, despite no witnesses.
Initial interviews at the East bar reveal that Momoko had no obvious enemies, but she was romantically linked to wealthy patron Kashiwagi Daisuke and owed money to the bar manager Yoyogi Kazuo. Kashiwagi died of cancer the same night, his secretary Machiko Hanazono claims she was at the hospital, and Yoyogi disappears after being reported for Kanto-Meiji gang debts.
Further digging uncovers Momoko was Kashiwagi’s illegitimate daughter, the heir to his fortune. Machiko, seeking the inheritance, conspired with Momoko’s boyfriend, university student Katakuzu Ichiro, to kill her.
Katakuzu’s confession says they lured Momoko to Hotel K.O., strangled her in his suite, then launched the body from the roof on a hang‑glider to land on the park’s bare soil, erasing footprints. The plan failed when Katakuzu’s glider crashed, a rental car arrived, and a police officer spotted a white vehicle, leading to their capture.
