Summary

Esper Dream drops you into a storybook world where a kid with ESP powers and a trusty gun must rescue Brick Town from a dark menace. The setting feels more like a fairy‑tale adventure than the usual swords‑and‑spells RPGs of the era, and each of the five chapters has its own distinct look and hidden sub‑dungeons.

Footprints on the ground act as invisible triggers; stepping on a matching pair whisks you into a small, enclosed arena where you blast enemies with your gun or ESP abilities. Defeating foes yields gold and experience, letting you level up to boost both Hit Points and ESP Points, and the extra cash lets you purchase stronger weapons in the towns you discover deeper in the game.

The title also supports up to three save slots, so you can pause your quest and return later. Though it launched only in Japan in 1987, an English fan translation eventually surfaced, and Konami later re‑released the game as a mobile i‑application and on the Wii Virtual Console, keeping this quirky RPG alive for new players.
