Summary

Apple Town Story is the Famicom Disk System’s quirky spin on Little Computer People, released in Japan by Square’s DOG label. Instead of the original’s generic avatar, you spend time with a cheerful girl in a pink dress and a bow‑tied hairdo, exploring a house that feels a bit more lived‑in thanks to a top‑floor balcony that looks out onto a tiny garden. When you boot the game, her name is pulled from a hidden list, giving each play‑through a slightly different personal touch. The title drops any traditional win‑condition; it’s essentially a digital dollhouse where you watch and interact with the girl as she goes about daily routines. While it strips away many of the features found in other Little Computer People releases, the soundtrack—composed by Nobuo Uematsu before his Final Fantasy fame—adds a surprisingly warm, nostalgic backdrop.
