Summary
Super Skweek feels like a love‑letter to Chip’s Challenge, but it swaps the turn‑based crawl for a frantic, real‑time dash. You control an orange‑furred critter that must sprint across blue tiles, turning them pink while dodging monsters that pop up from the very ground you’re repainting. The game throws in Pengo‑style hazards too—slippery ice, exploding squares, floating platforms and conveyor‑like tiles that shove you in a set direction, keeping every level a fresh puzzle.
The world is split into five islands, each packing fifty bite‑sized stages, and every map comes with a ticking clock that adds pressure. As you zip around, you collect coins that can be spent in a tiny shop for bombs, power‑ups and other weapons to fend off the invading critters. The blend of painting, combat and resource management makes each run feel like a race against both time and chaos.
Critics took note: French magazine Consoles Plus gave the Lynx version a near‑perfect 97 %, while Robert Jung scored it 7.5/10 and Amiga Action rated the Amiga port at 82 %. The title even resurfaced on iOS in 2013, proving that its quirky blend of puzzle‑action still charms retro fans today.
