Summary

Battlezone 2000 (often just called Battlezone) on the Atari Lynx is a gritty, futuristic tank shooter that pushes the handheld’s capabilities. Set in a near‑future where a rogue computer virus has corrupted massive battle‑tanks, the game forces you to navigate shattered battle zones and take down the mechanical menace. Its vector‑styled graphics and tight controls give a surprisingly deep sense of scale for a portable title. The soundtrack’s pulsing synths amplify the feeling of a world on the edge of collapse. Even after a decade, the title remains a standout example of handheld sci‑fi action.
