Play Missing In Action Online

Summary

Having been teased at classic gaming gatherings for years, the Atari 7800 prototype Missing in Action finally emerged from the shadows. AtariAge contributor Mitch managed to locate the sole known copy and generously released the binary so anyone can experience it. The game translates the 1984 Chuck Norris film into a side‑scrolling beat‑em‑up that drops players into a Vietnam‑war backdrop, complete with the era’s gritty aesthetic. Though never finished, the build is roughly 85 % complete and surprisingly playable, offering a solid glimpse of what could have enriched the 7800’s library. Its release has sparked excitement among retro collectors, cementing Missing in Action as a rare, yet tangible, piece of Atari history.
