Summary

Hat Trick captures the fast‑paced feel of a two‑on‑two ice‑hockey showdown from an overhead perspective. You control both skaters at once, and every joystick nudge also slides the goalie along the net, making defensive positioning feel surprisingly tactile. Scoring is straightforward—shoot the puck past the opponent’s line and watch the scoreboard tally each goal, while a separate counter tracks saves for bragging rights. Each match runs for two minutes, and if the clock expires with the score tied, a sudden‑death overtime of up to twenty seconds decides the winner. The game supports solo play or a head‑to‑head duel, and it even adds a quirky touch at the end: an ice‑resurfacer glides across the rink, polishing the surface as if you’d just finished a real game. All of this makes Hat Trick a compact yet surprisingly deep arcade experience that still feels fresh when you fire up an Atari 7800 emulator.
