Summary

Crack'ed is a quirky Atari 7800 title that started life as a dual‑platform project, with a companion Atari 2600 version built side‑by‑side. Only the 7800 edition ever hit shelves, while the 2600 cut‑down version—limited to three tightly‑designed stages—was unveiled as a collector’s showcase at the 2002 Classic Gaming Expo, complete with its own label, box and printed instructions. I love how the developers squeezed so much variety into those three levels, proving the 2600 could still surprise even after decades of evolution. The 7800 version expands the concept to six levels, adding a bonus round that feels like a playful nod to the original’s charm. For retro fans, the game stands as a reminder that even niche projects can leave a lasting impression.
