Summary
Basketbrawl mixes the fast‑paced chaos of street basketball with a literal brawl, and the whole thing plays with only the A and B buttons. Up to two players can team up, but every match is basically a free‑for‑all: you score two points for any basket and can pick up weapons that appear on the court, even flinging the basketball itself at opponents. Health, speed and power boosts appear as icons—milk, a lightning bolt, a fist, a heart and a sneaker—and they last the six‑minute game; once a player's health hits zero he collapses and becomes a permanent obstacle. The graphics mimic a graffiti‑covered city court, a common Atari 7800 aesthetic of the early ’90s. Critics were split: a 1992 Lynx review gave it 4/10 for weak sports and combat, while an Atari 7800 retro site later hailed it the best sports title on the system with a 4‑out‑of‑5 rating.
