Missile Command lets you steer a crosshair across a scrolling sky and fire counter‑missiles from one of three ground batteries. Each battery starts with ten missiles, and once a battery runs out or is hit by enemy fire it’s dead weight on the battlefield. The central battery’s missiles zip to their targets much faster than the side batteries, making them the only reliable way to intercept a smart bomb from a distance. When a counter‑missile reaches the crosshair it detonates, leaving a lingering fireball that can vaporise any incoming enemy missile that wanders into its radius for several seconds. I love watching those expanding fireballs dance across the screen, turning a frantic defense into a brief, satisfying burst of control.
