Summary

The game feels like an Irem riff on R‑Type, with the twist that the usual power‑pod is replaced by a pair of flexible, indestructible tentacles. These appendages can be maneuvered to sweep away enemies, adding a distinctive tactical layer. Most stages scroll horizontally, but the final segment of the sixth level flips to vertical movement, giving a brief change of pace. Storyline

X Multiply drops players into a desperate sci‑fi scenario set in the year 2249. A colony planet is being overrun by a swarm of microscopic alien organisms that infect and kill the settlers.

The invaders even produce a massive alien queen that takes control of a colonist’s body. In response, a team of scientists launches the microscopic fighter X‑002, a tiny but powerful craft designed to infiltrate the infected host from the inside.

The mission is to guide X‑002 through the host’s bloodstream, battling the alien cells and ultimately destroying the queen before the infection spreads beyond the colony.
