Summary

Snow Bros. 2: With New Elves expands the classic snow‑ball action of its predecessor with a fresh roster of three characters, each wielding a unique way to freeze foes. You still coat enemies in snow until they become rolling snowballs that smash anything in their path, but now you can also chase down the “EXTRA” letters left by defeated enemies to earn an instant extra life and jump ahead. Hidden bonus secrets pepper each of the six worlds, rewarding careful play with high scores and more lives.

The arcade cabinet even supports up to four players, though the extra seats require a special four‑player harness to join the fun. When a player is knocked out, they respawn instantly, while a hit reduces firepower and speed back to the baseline, keeping the pace lively. Completing each world’s boss stage unlocks the next, and the game’s difficulty ramps up steadily across its stages.

Released as Toaplan’s swan song before the company folded, the title features an uncredited soundtrack by Ryūichi Yabuki and was later showcased at the 1994 AOU Show. Today the rights belong to Tatsujin, the firm founded by former Toaplan staff, ensuring the snowy mayhem lives on for retro enthusiasts.

Storyline
