Storyline

In Shadowland, the arcade title often referred to simply as Shadowland, the narrative centers on a mischievous village boy named Tarosuke. His constant misbehavior angers the local deities, who decide to punish him by whisking him away while he sleeps. He awakens at the very gates of Hell, where the god Enma awaits to judge the living. Tarosuke is forced to wander the infernal realms, still alive, as part of his trial. The journey through Hell becomes both his punishment and his path to redemption.
