Summary

Raimais dropped onto Japanese arcades in April 1988, putting a sleek vehicle on a frantic quest to scrub every dot from its maze before the relentless alien foes close in. Designed by Akira Fujita—best known for Taito’s Arkanoid—the game stitches together 32 increasingly wicked mazes, punctuated by boss duels that force you to master both speed and pattern recognition. After the final pellet is gobbled, any of several wall‑breaks can whisk your craft to a new area, each exit spawning a different bonus route and multiple possible endings. Though it never saw a domestic arcade rollout, the title finally slipped onto Western consoles via the Taito Legends 2 compilation in 2006 and later resurfaced on the Switch and PS4 through Hamster’s Arcade Archives in 2021, introducing a whole new generation to its frantic maze‑chase thrills.

Storyline

In Raimais on Arcade you step into the shoes of Rika Midorikawa, a determined heroine on a rescue mission. She must wander through a twisting labyrinth, gathering scattered dots while staying clear of relentless alien foes. Each collected dot brings her closer to unlocking the path that leads to her missing brother. The tension builds as the maze grows more complex and the alien enemies become harder to evade. Ultimately, Rika’s quick reflexes and careful navigation determine whether she can reunite with her sibling.
