Storyline

Power Instinct 2 continues the Gōketsuji clan drama from the first game. After Otane defeated her older sister Oume in the previous tournament, Oume, with the backing of their mother Oshima, kidnapped Otane, tossed her into the ocean and forged a letter claiming the younger sister had renounced the clan leadership. Clan law dictates that a leader’s death or resignation triggers an immediate new tournament to choose a successor, so the forged letter forces the council to announce a fresh competition. A week later all fighters from the last bout and other family members are summoned, while Otane survives, escapes the sea, and enters the tournament to challenge the winner and reclaim her position as clan head.
