Summary
Jurassic Park is a fast‑paced arcade rail shooter that drops you into the chaotic world of the film’s dinosaur‑infested island. The cabinet cleverly mimics the rear of the Ford Explorer tour vehicles, while hydraulic pistons shake the seat in sync with on‑screen action, giving a surprisingly immersive ride for an early‑’90s title. Using a joystick, you blast a mix of 2‑D sprites and pioneering 3‑D polygons that slide together to convey depth and movement—making it one of the first games of its genre to feature true 3‑D environments. The frantic dino‑hunting isn’t just visual; the motion seat reacts to every tremor, turning each victory into a physical thrill. It set a benchmark for later Jurassic Park arcade sequels and inspired later attractions that blend motion rigs with shooter gameplay.
Storyline
The arcade shooter Jurassic Park (often just called Jurassic Park) drops you onto Isla Nublar a few months after the movie’s climax. You and a partner pilot a vehicle armed with endless automatic fire, blasting away at a wave of prehistoric foes. The roster includes Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor, Dilophosaurus, Gallimimus, Brachiosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, plus non‑dinosaur threats like ichthyosaurs and pterosaurs. The only boss is the towering T‑rex, while fences and massive rocks act as obstacles you must shoot down to keep moving. After surviving the onslaught, the game wraps up with the dinosaurs being corralled back into cages, restoring a fragile peace on the island.
