Summary

Gate of Doom (originally Dark Seal) drops you into an isometric, diagonal‑scrolling battlefield bristling with traps, items and spell‑enhanced enemies. You can pick from four distinct heroes—Knight, Wizard, Bard or Ninja—each equipped with their own attacks and a quirky palette of digital voice‑overs that pepper the frantic hack‑and‑slash action. The game’s design encourages split‑screen teamwork; two players can join forces, swapping roles on the fly to combine melee strikes with wizardry or musical attacks. Levels are littered with hidden power‑ups and spell scrolls that keep combat fresh and strategic despite the nonstop brawler pacing. Despite its ’90 arcade roots, the title still feels surprisingly lively for modern retro fans.
