Summary
Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors drops you into a star‑spanning tournament where eight of the galaxy’s most distinct warriors chase a once‑in‑a‑millennium divine challenger called Felden Crayce. Each combatant lands on a different planet, motivated by pride, vengeance, or mysterious personal quests, then battles their way toward the ultimate showdown. The game’s arena scrolls boundlessly—there are no walls, just an infinite‑scrolling backdrop that makes every fight feel like space itself is in motion.
Sunsoft packed the Neo Geo cartridge with 16 MB of data and gave players a simple four‑button layout: three strike buttons of varying speed and power, plus a taunt button that’s pure show. Clever combos unlock each character’s signature moves, giving the roster depth despite its modest size. Although its borderless play felt odd to some reviewers, the striking visuals and high‑energy audio helped it become a standout title in arcades throughout 1995.
Storyline
Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors (often just called Galaxy Fight) drops players into a chaotic interstellar tournament where a mysterious tyrant named Felden threatens every corner of the galaxy. The lore weaves together ruined planets, cursed crowns, and a quest for ultimate power.
Rolf, the self‑proclaimed “Hero of the Galaxy” from Airrass, pilots a battle suit armed with a flamethrower, jetpack and energy pistol. His personal vendetta is to avenge three fallen friends by taking down Felden. Along the way he is hired by the ditzy alien Roomi’s father to escort her home.
Alvan, the Prince of the Ruined Planet Rozalis, seeks to restore his world after Felden’s invasion. Gunter, a massive green fire‑breather from Guljeff, and Golden Done, a brown‑skinned thug from Mani, each chase their own freedom and revenge. Juri, a beauty‑obsessed thief from Lezaar, fights to become stronger and prettier. Samurai Kazuma (“The Raging Storm”) roams with Rolf hunting worthy opponents. Musafar, a giant robot of the Fakir Empire, absorbs opponents’ abilities to aid an imperial conquest, then rebels against its makers. Bonus‑Kun, a living punching bag parody of Ryu, and Yacopu, a shape‑shifting rabbit mid‑boss, add quirky challenges.
Each character receives a unique ending after Felden’s defeat, ranging from Alvan’s restored kingdom to Juri’s promised fortune, while the secret boss Rouwe appears only for flawless runs, revealing a hidden link to Kazuma’s past.
