Summary
Dragon Blaze is a striking vertical‑scrolling shooter that lets you mount a dragon and unleash a mix of conventional fire, bombs and a unique "Dragon Shot" mechanic. You choose from four distinct riders—Quaid, Sonia, Rob and Ian—each paired with a themed dragon and a set of sub‑shots, combined magic attacks and separation magic that change when you detach from your beast. The game rewards skillful play: releasing the dragon at the right moment not only boosts your score but also grants bonus items, while hitting a boss’s core yields extra technical points. Visually, the stages blend eerie atmospheres with vibrant, animated backdrops, and the bosses feature dramatic transformation sequences. On the PS2, the title arrived both as part of a Psikyo Shooting Collection and as a standalone release in Europe, preserving the arcade’s adjustable difficulty, continue settings and even adding online leaderboards for bragging rights among dragon riders.
