Die Hard Arcade (known as Dynamite Deka in Japan) feels more like a 3‑D fighting game than a traditional side‑scroller. Sega’s first texture‑mapped polygon beat‑'em‑up lets you and a friend control John McClane or Kris Thompsen, throwing punches, kicks and everything from a broom to a flamethrower made by fusing a spray can and lighter. The combat system is surprisingly deep – you can link attacks into combo chains and even execute partner‑only special moves in two‑player mode. Storyline

In the English version of Die Hard Arcade (also released as Dynamite Deka), the two protagonists John McClane and Kris Thompsen—known in the Japanese version as Bruno Delinger and Cindy Holiday—are tasked with rescuing the President’s daughter, Caroline Powell, from a group of armed terrorists.

Along the way they battle a colorful roster of bosses: the biker “Hog,” a Mexican luchador called Jocko, the odd duo of sumo wrestler Mr. Oishi paired with army general Mr. Tubbs, a hulking fire chief who tosses tiny grenades, and two sets of laser‑blasting Spiderbots. The ultimate antagonist is Wolf “White Fang” Hongo, who commands the other henchmen.

If both players survive to the climax, the game forces them into a final showdown on the skyscraper’s rooftop, where they must fight each other for the sole gratitude of Caroline, echoing the ending of Double Dragon.
