Summary

Bucky O'Hare is a vibrant arcade beat ’em up that sneaks in side‑scroller shooter DNA. While the stages scroll like those in Final Fight, your chosen hero wields a laser pistol, and when you press in close the character punches with fists—an early taste of the close‑combat swaps later seen in Metal Slug. The game keeps the TV show’s color palette alive and even rehired the original voice actors for its inter‑level cut scenes.

You can pick from the rabbit captain Bucky, telepathic cat Jenny, four‑armed duck Dead‑Eye, or the one‑eyed android Blinky (a fifth playable kid, Willy, shows up in some releases). Their mission is to blast through swarms of brain‑washed toads—Al Negator, Toadborg, Total Terror Toad, cyborg spiders and the dreaded Komplex‑2‑Go—to shut down the Komplex program and free the Interplanetary Life Force. The soundtrack rolls through tracks like "Planet Warren" and "Toad Star," and the title even cracked the third‑spot on RePlay’s arcade popularity list when it first lit up cabinets.

Storyline

In Bucky O'Hare, the crew races against the Toad Empire’s plan to conquer other worlds. Their mission mirrors the TV series: stop the toads from invading extraterrestrial planets and enslaving their inhabitants. To achieve this, they blast through swarms of brain‑washed toads, pushing toward the heart of the enemy. The ultimate target is the evil computer program known as Komplex, the mastermind behind the invasion. Destroying Komplex frees the Interplanetary Life Force, ending the Toad Empire’s threat and restoring peace across the galaxy.
