Summary

Baraduke, known as Alien Sector in North America, thrusts the player into the subterranean Octy citadel that has invaded the tranquil world of Paccet. You control a spacewoman in a bio‑hazard suit—Kissy on Player 1 or Takky on Player 2—using a Wave Gun that produces noticeable recoil and a shield that can block enemy fire.
Each of the eight worlds consists of five regular floors followed by a boss chamber. Defeating every Octy on a floor spawns a pipe that opens the way upward, and power‑up capsules drop from the critters. Bosses vary from a towering Blue Worm to a Turning Eye and ultimately the Octy King.
The arcade version ranked 15th among Japan’s most‑successful table units in September 1985, earning praise for its fast, addictive shooting despite modest graphics. Retro analysts later likened its gravity‑affected movement and level‑by‑level exploration to classics like Metroid and Section Z.

Storyline

In Baraduke, players take control of a spacewoman in a bio‑hazard suit—Kissy for Player 1 or Takky for Player 2. They must explore eight alien worlds, clearing each floor of hostile Octy creatures while rescuing the one‑eyed Paccets for bonus points. Each world ends with a boss battle against either the Blue Worm, the Turning Eye, or the Octy King. The game’s twist comes at the finale, revealing that the protagonist, Toby “Kissy” Masuyo, is actually female—a detail hidden until her face finally appears on screen.
