Summary
Alligator Hunt drops you into a frantic side‑scrolling shooter where teenage skateboarders‑armed with heavy weapons blast reptilian‑looking alien invaders from the sky. The perspective is a hybrid of behind‑the‑character aim and fixed screen action, a formula that feels very close to the arcade classics Cabal and Blood Bros. It’s wild enough that the enemies even march toward a huge alien base you have to demolish.
Because only a handful of cabinets ever hit the floor, finding the machine today feels like chasing a myth; even back in the ’90s the title quietly slipped under the radar. The rights switched to Piko Interactive in 2020, sparking renewed interest among collectors. Spanish retro writer Carlos Forcada later called it an “underrated gem,” noting that its quirky protagonists and sharp visuals still hold up.
Storyline
Alligator Hunt drops players into a chaotic Earth under siege by reptilian aliens. The only hope comes from a crew of daring skate‑boarding kids who take up arms as soldiers. Their mission is to battle through city streets and alien outposts, blasting the invaders and ultimately destroying the enemy base. The game blends fast‑paced shooting with the quirky twist of skate‑boarding heroes, giving the arcade action a playful edge.
