Storyline

Set in a parallel world that mirrors Japan’s Taishō period, the people have uncovered the fearsome Blood Swords known as the Akai Katana. These blades demand human sacrifices to unleash their massive destructive power, and the empire has wielded them to crush neighboring nations. The endless bloodshed and the loss of close family members have caused some swordsmen to question their loyalty. Armed with new fighter planes and upgraded swords, a small band of rebels now rises to challenge the tyrannical empire. In the arcade version, often called Akai Katana on Arcade, this struggle forms the core of the game’s storyline.
