Summary

Though the arcade board lists ten stages, only seven appear in any single run, with the fifth and sixth stages branching based on how well you performed in the earlier levels. The final stage is a performance‑driven choice between Fight in Orbit, Another Dimension, or Mars, each offering two possible end‑bosses. If you lose all lives in that last stage, a continue drops you back to the start of a stage, while escaping bosses trigger unique failure cut‑scenes. Item points also scale dramatically the longer they linger, climbing from 100 up to a whopping 10,000 points.

Storyline

In Aero Fighters Special, a shadowy group known as Fata Morgana is secretly engineering a weapon that could kill or maim two‑thirds of the planet’s population. To stop this looming catastrophe, an international coalition of elite pilots and soldiers—dubbed Project Blue—is formed. These combat experts hail from every corner of the globe, uniting their skills to thwart Fata Morgana’s evil scheme and protect humanity from the devastating weapon.
